15 month well check!

Trinity had her 15 month appointment yesterday. It was less than fun. I really don't enjoy doctor offices or my baby having to get shots...but I do enjoy getting to see Jennifer! She is the nurse practitioner at Dr. Nabulsi's office...but most importantly a dear friend. Jennifer and I were great friends in high school. I remember a summer when we spent almost every night together rotating houses! So much fun! I have so many fun memories with her! Thanks for being a good friend...and thanks for loving my girls so much and caring for them as their doctor!
Quick Chloe-ism:
Chloe's friend: I go to dr. MacFarren....
Chloe: Well, I go to dr. MacJennifer!!

back to the appointment....Trinity is in the 50th percentile for height and weight. Her head was in the 90th but Jennifer thought that might be wrong...her head doesn't seem unproportional to me!! We waited in the office for about 2 hours....which can be a challenge with Trinity. We did whatever we could to entertain her and keep her happy. Here are some of the many activities that she enjoyed while in there...before she lost her mind of course!!

enjoying apple juice!
Then she got shots...got dressed...and got out!! She ran a fever today, but hopefully all will be well tomorrow!

I am so thankful for my healthy 15 month old!!

GOAL!!

Chloe had her first soccer game on Saturday. Besides the cold air and wind...it was a beautiful morning. I must admit...I really don't enjoy most sporting events at all. But...having a child play in one...changes everything! I did not know that I would be yelling, cheering, standing...so much! I surprised myself! I could not be more proud of her! She scored two goals! Now, the first goal was in the wrong net...but she didn't care! She was happy and so were we! The next goal she made was in the correct net and she was so excited! She was aggressive and stayed right with the ball...it was pretty fun to watch! Go pixies!! By the way...I mentioned that the colors were pink and black...well, when we got the jerseys on Friday...they were more orange than pink! The girls didn't complain...and hey, who can make "traffic cone orange" look better than these cute girls?

Have I mentioned before...

That I am officially a soccer mom!

Chloe had her first soccer practice last night! She is on the "Pixie" team and much to her excitement, they are PINK and BLACK!! Chloe has been asking about her colors since I registered her!

The practice went pretty well! The girls have never played before! You could see some confusion in their minds...but they were oh so cute! Chloe knew most of the girls on her team already! They learned that they can't touch the ball with their hands unless it goes out of bounds...they can knee it, bop it with their heads, or kick it! The girls then had to play "mini-game"...it turned out a mess! They really didn't know what to do..and felt bad taking the ball from another girl!

My friend Emily said that the hardest thing about soccer is the fact that they have to steal the ball when all they have been taught since birth is sharing! After yesterday, I agree!

I loved watching Chloe interact with her coach. She was raising her hand, answering questions, and asking permission! I was a proud momma...as usual! Her first game is Saturday at 9am...yes people...I will be up before 9am this Saturday!
Go Pixies!!!

ICE ICE BABY!

On Thursday night, Chloe watched a movie on Disney called "Ice Princess". She was convinced after watching it, that she would be an amazing ice skater. She told us that she would twirl and jump if she got to go ice skating! Curt told her that he would take her Friday night! She was so excited!

On Friday afternoon, we met Curt at his office in Odessa. We headed to Fuddruckers (yum!) at the mall and then headed toward the skating rink!

Curt and chloe got their skates on and headed to the ice! Trinity and I watched from the sidelines! I must say, I giggled alot! I was a hoot to watch Chloe start to fall, and then curt lift her into the air and set her back down on the ice...so sweet!

Chloe started to get the hang of it towards the end, and I was really proud of her. Curt let go of her a few times and she did pretty good! Although, I highly doubt that the olympics are in our future!!

our "stay"cation!

Wednesday was the busiest day of Spring Break! I had something very fun planned for Chloe with our good friends Emily and Dax! The day before, our neighbors, who sadly moved away, called and let me know they were in town. Suddenly our day turned even busier!!

On Wednesday morning, we went to the children's museum to see the sweet girls who used to live next door. Chloe was so excited to see Maddie and Abigail. They played so great together...while Emily and I sat on the bench and "Caught up". Chloe loves going to the museum...the grocery store is her favorite part.

We left the museum and headed for some grub! Chloe thought it was so cool that she played in the pretend burger king at the museum and then we went to the real one! Oh, the small pleasures of life!

We went to Mimi's to eat and see Trinity for a few minutes...then we were off to our second adventure of the day! Emily and I reserved a room at the MCM fundome in Odessa. They have an indoor pool, playground, and putt-putt! When you are five...this is a great stay-cation!

We got there and headed straight to the pool. It was pretty crowded, but Dax and Chloe didn't seem to mind. They swam and played. Both of them impressed us with their jumping and swimming skills! You could see the joy in their smiles! They swam for about 3 hours then we went to the room and bathed them! We let them put their pajamas on for dinner! They thought that was great fun! We went to play putt-putt and then we headed to the restaurant! The kids ate thier kids meals...and Emily and I split dinner!

We had the vegetable plate...which consisted of okra, onions, zuchini, and mushrooms....all FRIED! So yummy!

It was a good time!

Spring Break...so far!

So it is spring break! We really haven't done anything exciting so far! The weather has been a little sad for spring break! On Monday Chloe and Adison went to swim camp at COM. They got to do gymnastics, jump of the diving boards, slide, rope swing, swim, eat a snack, and swim some more. Chloe was so happy when I picked her up! I was glad to see her happy! I picked up the girls and took them to McDonald's for a happy meal, went to mimi's house to eat it, and then took Adison home. It was a fun day for Chloe!
Today was a little blah! We ventured out for a little bit, but that was short lived...and I still have not found the perfect pair of sunglasses to wear to Puerto Vallarta!!
Tomorrow we will meet some friends at the Children's Museum...and then the highlight of Chloe's week! My friend Emily and I rented a room at a hotel here that has an indoor pool. The kids are going to swim until they can't swim anymore! We will eat dinner there....swim some more...then head home at night. We decided that we didn't really want to sleep in the hotel!! I hope she really enjoys herself...I think she will! She loves water!
Oh! And I have some photo shoots this week too! I am so excited!

Bingham Dance Groundbreaking!

I was so honored to be asked to photograph the Bingham Dance groundbreaking event! It was a little chilly, windy, and dirty...but the girls were so cute and brightly dressed! It was so fun to see where the new site for "Talent Station" will be!

Twinkle Toes!!

We have spent the last three days trying to find Chloe some new shoes.

It is a frustrating process...

She likes her tall boots. She likes her flip flops. This is fine with me, but it is getting warmer and she is not allowed to wear flip flops to school. All she wears is leggings and dresses, so finding shoes to go with that particular outfit is challenging.

Gees...no one ever told me that this part of parenthood would be difficult! You know, the whole "oh my gosh...what shoes is my five year old going to wear with that outfit" part. I seriously need to get a grip!

We found a pair at dillards and bought them. They are really cute and very sparkly. The next day, she lets us know that they are uncomfortable. I was frustrated, but definitely don't want her walking around with aching feet! So, we returned those and went out on another shoe outing!

We would walk in to a store...Chloe would head straight to the high heeled church shoes...I would say no...explain to her what we are looking for...hold up a darling pair...she would say no...on the occasion that we did find some she approved of they wouldn't have her size...and we would walk out, with our heads held low...okay not really, its just shoes!!

We finally found a cute pair at Finish Line. She tried them on...walked around funny in them...and then declared that these are the ones she wants. I was excited...but insisted on checking just one more store before I took the plunge and bought them only to return them the next day. We went down to JC penny and checked out their options. And that is where I found myself saying something that I never thought I would have to say...

"No! Chloe you are not allowed to wear heels to pre-k!"

She really wanted those high heeled tennis shoes! Yep...thats right! High-heeled tennis shoes.

So...we went back to finish line and ended up with these:

Cute huh! I told her that if she went to school and stomped, I would take the battery out so that they quit twinkling...Now, how do you do that?

Chloe-isms!

It has been a while...and I am leaving tons out! But, here are some of the cute things Chloe has said lately!

chloe: Hey momma, Trinity and Me both have blonde hair!
Me: I know...(in a whiny voice) What about me?
Chloe: Momma...God only gives you the color he wants you to have.

Chloe: (While watching TV with my mimi) "Mimi...is that a robber on tV"
Mimi: I guess it could be
Chloe: I bet he's looking for recipes!

Chloe: Mom how do you spell Soverign
Me: Well, tell me what Sovereign means...
Chloe: God is sovereign
Me: and?
Chloe: and he created everything and he has no end.
Me: S-O-V-E-R-E_I-G-N...Chloe it means that God is perfect and in control of everything.

Chloe: mom did you know that there are two seasons that are hot and two that are cold
Me: Yes...which ones are hot?
chloe: spring and summer are hot...and fall and winter are cold...That means they are complements!
Me: Wow! you are absolutely correct!

Me: You can't wear that dress until Easter
Chloe: When is that?
Me: in a month
Chloe: wow...thats a dang long time!

Oh, how I love my little girl!!!

The next few days...

Curt leaves for California tomorrow. I will miss him, but I am so happy for him to be going to the Shepard's Conference. It is a special time for him to bond with other men of our church and a time for his spiritual growth. I am very proud of my husband.
The conference streams the sermons live on the internet. You can check them out here:

I hope that if you do listen, that you will be blessed.
